The Board of Directors of the Tanzania International Arbitration Centre (TIAC) wishes to inform the public, stakeholders, and partners that, effective from 16th July 2025, Ms. Magreth Richard Magoma has been appointed as the Acting Secretary General of TIAC.

Ms. Magoma assumes this role following a vacancy in the position of Secretary General and will serve in an acting capacity until a substantive appointment is made or until otherwise determined by the Board. She brings to the position extensive experience in legal practice, institutional management, and alternative dispute resolution, and is well-positioned to lead the Secretariat during this transitional period.

TIAC remains committed to providing efficient, neutral, and professional arbitration and ADR services in Tanzania and beyond. The appointment of an Acting Secretary General ensures the continued delivery of our services and the Centre’s operational stability.

All official correspondence and matters related to the Office of the Secretary General should be directed to Ms. Magreth Richard Magoma through the TIAC Secretariat.

Our Model Arbitration Clause

Any dispute, controversy or claim arising out of, relating to or in connection with this contract, including any question regarding its existence, validity or termination, shall be resolved by arbitration in accordance with the TANZANIA INTERNATIONAL ARBITRATION CENTRE (TIAC) Arbitration Rules. The seat of arbitration shall be Dar es Salaam, Tanzania [or choose another city]. The language of the arbitration shall be English [or choose another language]. The number of arbitrators shall be one [or three, or delete this sentence and rely on Article 8 of the TANZANIA INTERNATIONAL ARBITRATION CENTRE (TIAC) Arbitration Rules]”.
