The Tanzania International Arbitration Centre is hosting a two-day specialized program tailored for students from the Law School of Tanzania and young lawyers of the Tanganyika Law Society. Titled “Foundations of Commercial Mediation: Bridging Core Principles and Legal Practice in Tanzania,” hosted by the Tanzania International Arbitration Centre. Taking place at Wakili House in Dar es Salaam from August 30th to 31st, 2025.

The program is designed to equip participants with essential practical skills for a successful legal career, focusing on effective dispute resolution, offering in-depth insights into commercial mediation, exploring how core principles connect with real-world legal practice, and guiding attendees through the accreditation process, including its key requirements and procedures.

Our Model Arbitration Clause

ADR Session on Dispute Avoidance and Mitigation Strategies – International Perspectives

The Tanzania International Arbitration Centre, in collaboration with ADROIT / KQI Professional Alliance (India), successfully hosted an ADR session titled “Dispute Avoidance and Mitigation Strategies – International Perspectives”. The session focused on key lessons from international construction arbitration cases, highlighting practical strategies for preventing and managing disputes in the construction industry.

The interactive panel featured distinguished ADR experts, including Mr. Ramasubramanian FCIArb, Brigadier Amit Kathpalia, MRICS, FIE, FICCP, Sr PE, and Mr. Amod K. Dalela MSW.LLM.FICA.FAIADR.FCIAC (both from India) who shared valuable international best practices and real-world insights drawn from their extensive experience in construction arbitration. Participants gained practical knowledge on dispute avoidance and mitigation, exploring how proven global strategies can be adapted to strengthen contractual relationships, minimize project risks, and enhance dispute management in the local context.

The session was held on 23rd August, 2025 at Wakili House, Dar es Salaam, and provided participants with not only global perspectives but also actionable takeaways to improve the effectiveness of dispute resolution in construction projects.

TIAC yakutana na Katibu Mkuu Wizara ya Katiba na Sheria.

Ujumbe kutoka Kituo cha Kimataifa cha Usuluhishi wa Migogoro (TIAC), ukiongozwa na Bw. Boniphace Mwabukusi, Rais wa Chama cha Wanasheria Tanganyika (TLS), Bw. Mpale Mpoki, Makamu Mwenyekiti wa Bodi ya TIAC, na Bi. Magreth Magoma, Afisa Mtendaji Mkuu wa TIAC, umekutana na kufanya mazungumzo na Katibu Mkuu wa Wizara ya Katiba na Sheria, Bw. Eliakim Maswi, katika ofisi za Wizara zilizopo Mtumba, tarehe 14 Agosti 2025.

Ujumbe huo umeishukuru Wizara ya Katiba na Sheria kwa kudumisha ushirikiano katika kuendeleza na kuboresha matumizi ya dhana ya Utatuzi wa Migogoro kwa Njia Mbadala.

Aidha, katika kikao hicho, Wizara na TIAC wamekubaliana kuendeleza ushirikiano huo kwa lengo la kuboresha mifumo wezeshi itakayorahisisha upatikanaji wa haki kupitia mfumo wa utatuzi wa migogoro nje ya mahakama. Vilevile, wamejadili umuhimu wa kuwajengea uwezo watoa huduma za usuluhishi ili kuongeza ufanisi katika kutatua migogoro kwa kutumia muda mfupi na gharama nafuu. Hatua hizi zinalenga kuwajengea wawekezaji imani kwa mifumo yetu ya upatikanaji haki, kuimarisha mahusiano, na kuchochea ukuaji wa kiuchumi.
